How to care for lilies
- With the right care, the buds will open beautifully and your lilies will stay fresh for longer.
- Cut the stems diagonally using a clean, sharp knife.
- Remove any leaves that would sit below the waterline.
- Use a clean vase filled with fresh water and cut flower food.
- Check the water regularly and replace it when necessary.
- Keep lilies away from direct sunlight, draughts and heat sources.
- Keep lilies away from ripening fruit, as it releases ethylene, which can cause flowers to age more quickly.
Pollen on clothing?
Got lily pollen on your clothes? Do not rub it and do not wet it straight away. This can cause the pigment to penetrate further into the fabric.
Carefully remove the dry pollen using a piece of sticky tape. If a yellow or orange stain is still visible afterwards, place or hang the garment in direct sunlight. Sunlight can help fade any remaining pigment.
