XAnthu

Anthurium

XAnthu is a growers' association of cut Anthurium cultivators with a wide range of varieties. Xanthu is progressive: they cultivate over 50 different species and regularly introduce novelties. High-quality standards and sustainability are highly valued by all the growers.

Sustainability
The Anthuriums are grown using organic methods, and the nurseries are equipped with solar panels to generate sustainable electricity. Dehumidifiers are used to ensure the quality of the flowers and reduce the need for fossil fuels. All of this contributes to a more sustainable cultivation process and higher quality.

New: Fortezza
The green-red colourway of Fortezza®️ gives this flower a powerful look. The predominance of green makes the flower suitable for use in many colour combinations, while the shape and colour combination makes Fortezza ideal for use in both bouquets and arrangements. The ability to produce longer stems and a verified cold tolerance at 7°C make this cup-shaped flower a must-have for growers and florists alike.

Did you know...

  • The Anthurium is a perennial crop? On average, an Anthurium plant remains in the greenhouse for 5-6 years.
  • The name "Anthurium" - also known as the flamingo flower - is derived from the Greek words "Anthos" and "Oura," which mean "bloom" and "tail" respectively. The Anthurium grows with a protective bract and a spadix on which the flowers are located, resembling a blooming tail.
  • In recent years, many new Anthurium species have been introduced, and significant investments have been made in researching the cold tolerance of different Anthurium varieties.

 Longevity
After being hand-cut, Anthuriums have an average vase life of 3 weeks. They are one of the longest-lasting cut flowers! Anthuriums are tropical flowers, which means they also guarantee a long vase life, even in warmer temperatures.

Packaging
A significant portion of XAnthu's assortment is transported in reusable buckets. These Anthuriums are packed in transparent sleeves of five. The advantages of this packaging include immediate visibility of the product and quick unpacking time. Anthuriums transported in boxes are packed using 100% recycled paper.
