FlowerPaper

Sustainable packaging with FlowerPaper

Sustainability is playing an increasingly important role in the flower supply chain. However, when growing and processing flowers, there is always leftover material, such as cut stems, leaves and flowers that just fall short of quality standards. Instead of treating this as waste, we give it a new purpose.

Together with our supplier Groot Packaging and a customer in Switzerland, we have launched a sustainable packaging initiative. Tulips are packaged in sleeves made from FlowerPaper, an innovative paper produced from rose waste combined with recycled paper. This allows residual streams to be reused and helps actively reduce waste.

This sustainable flower packaging supports a circular approach within the floriculture sector. The result is packaging that is not only environmentally friendly, but also has a modern and well-presented look. Less waste, more reuse, and a concrete step towards a future in which flowers are packaged more sustainably.
